Bugs:Shortcut Not Working

From UniFly Documentation

Bug Information

Status: Resolved - v1.0.2.82 Beta

Reported: 13/05/2023

Issue Description:

unfortunately on some installations of UniFly the Shortcut icon will not work, it shows for a split second then closes, but leaves a background process: "ClickOnce" in task manager.

Cause of Bug:

This is caused due to Microsoft Smart Screen stopping the installation or an anti-virus application, we hope to resolve this soon with getting our application publication.

Bug Fix Details

Due to the way ClickOnce handles applications we cannot force "Run as Administrator" to be set on any application due to this we have decided to move away from ClickOnce and implement our own installer that will handle all updates and installing the correct files and settings this will allow us to run the "UniFly.exe" file as administrator.

Due to this all users before v1.0.2.79 Beta will need to update to the latest version to v1.0.2.82 Beta- *UniFlyInstaller.msi*. See Steps below to Re-install.

Steps to Re-Install

  1. Uninstall the old UniFly Client via Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel or Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
  2. Download the latest version from here: UniFlyInstaller.msi
  3. Once downloaded follow the updated Installation Guide

Files for UniFly can now be found in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\UniFly".
